On April 19, the Ghent Centre for Digital Humanities is organizing the second edition of the Scheldt Mapathon at the renovated MAP Mercator in Sint-Niklaas.
Using the online tool Allmaps, participants will link recognizable points on those historical maps to their current locations. In this way, the history of the Scheldt Valley becomes literally visible in the contemporary landscape.
Participating is easy: all you need is a laptop. No prior technical knowledge is required.
