Award for OpenStreetMap

Flagis VZW, the Flemish association for professional users of geo-data, and AM/FM-GIS BeLux have awarded OpenStreetMap Belgium with a Geospatial Impact Award.

OpenStreetMap (OSM) data can be reused by anyone for free, which also has a broad social impact. For example, through initiatives such as the OnWheels app to map accessibility for the blind and less mobile. Or Pin your Point (Toerisme Vlaanderen) to collect data that is requested by the tourism sector but cumbersome to collect by the government.
