Annual change in the number of level crossings by type of line

Infrabel

Annual evolution of the number of level crossings in service on the Infrabel network by type of access (public or private) and by type of line (passengers, goods or ports). Crossing tracks by car, bike or foot always carries a risk, as it is impossible for a train to brake quickly. This is why Infrabel has been working for years to reduce the number of crossings between railways and public roads. More information in the dataset on level crossing deletions by Infrabel. Other level crossings are no longer accounted for because the tracks on which they are located are no longer in service because their management is taken over by private partners
