The comfort of a bicycle shed, and therefore the use of the bicycle as an alternative in the mobility issue, increases when providing covered bicycle sheds. The long-term parking of the two-wheelers, by protecting them from weather and wind, becomes slightly more attractive. But also the storage of a large amount of bicycles becomes more orderly and less chaotic in the street scene. This facility is prominent in the street scene and therefore not every location is suitable: there is not always the space for implantation or the environmental factors are unfavourable due to, for example, the proximity of a monument or valuable building. In addition, it makes sense to consider this investment in frequently visited places such as stations, schools, museums, swimming pools, libraries or central squares in the city center or the district cores.
