Evolution of the number of level crossings by area

Infrabel

Annual evolution of the number of level crossings in operation on the Infrabel's Network, dispatched by area. A level crossing is the crossing between an public or private way and one or mor railway track. A level crossing with active signalling will warn users of approaching or passing trains. Infrabel's network is managed in 5 area : Centre, Nord-East, Nord-West, South-East and South-West. Crossing de railway tracks is always at risk because trains cannot immediately stop. That's why Infrabel works to suppress the number of crossings between the railway and the public ways (when it is possible).
