Helpdesk carto du SPW (SPW - Secrétariat général - SPW Digital - Département Données transversales - Gestion et valorisation de la donnée)

This data layer gathers information from the extreme flood return period scenario, relating to runoff. The data comes from the business data “Flood zones – Extreme return period scenario – Runoff” ( https://geoportail.wallonie.be/catalogue/8abf5f4e-53c2-4981-a75a-aa2d50…). This data is part of the Flood Directive 2007/60/EC. The mapping of flood zones for the extreme return period scenario is established for the Walloon part of the 4 international river basin districts (Meuse, Escaut, Rhine, Seine). It is imposed by the European Flood Directive (ED), or Directive 2007/60/EC of 23 October 2007 on the assessment and management of flood risks. It was approved by the Walloon Government on 4 March 2021 (MB: 24/03/2021). This layer represents runoff flooding, for the extreme return period scenario. When the flood originates in the concentration of natural stormwater runoff, the flood corresponds to one axis. In this case, it is a concept of peak flow that is represented, the possible values of which are: low, medium or high.
