This data layer represents the landscape elements (2021/20116/EU) that contribute to maintaining biodiversity in Wallonia. The landscape features included in the Land Parcel Identification System (LPIS) are as follows: - one-off items: - isolated trees (woody) - nearby trees (woody) - isolated shrubs and bushes (woody) - linear elements: - hedges and aligned trees (woody) - ditches (wet) - slope (grassy) - surface elements - groves (woody) - ponds (wet) - fallow (grassy) - Melliferous fallows (grassy) - Field edge strips (grassy) The Paying Agency of Wallonia consolidates the declared landscape elements on the basis of aerial orthophotographs taken annually throughout Wallonia. Automatic findings are generated when there is a discrepancy between the farmer's declaration and the item registered in the identification system for agricultural parcels. Landscape features are agricultural areas of or adjacent to arable land. Each element of the landscape bears a unique identification. Each element of the landscape corresponds to a coefficient of conversion and/or weighting which makes it possible to assign it an area. Landscape elements are published in order to meet Regulation 2023/138/EU. However, the official source remains the copy managed and held by the Paying Agency of Wallonia.
