Measuring points triad quality assessment

Openbare Vlaamse Afvalstoffenmaatschappij (OVAM)

Ecological assessment of the quality of the waterbed in Flanders according to triad consists of three different evaluations that are combined into one final assessment: a physical chemical, an ecotoxicological and a biological evaluation. The quality of a waterbed is compared to a reference soil that is close to its natural state (Deckere, De Cooman et al. 2000). The more hatches that show a deviation from the reference soil, the worse the waterbed quality. Since 2016, 300 monitoring sites have been sampled every 6 years within the waterbed monitoring network (VMM), previously 600 monitoring sites every 4 years. The TKB gives an existing risk of contamination.
