Assignments

A DOV assignment is usually used to group data from the same origin into a recognisable whole, these assignments form a quick access to a specific (partial) data set. Reference sets can be distinguished within the assignments. Reference sets are (large) sets of DOV data points, collected in a ‘Assignment’ with a specific purpose. The reference sets document research and associated data points for certain standard products, such as the substantiation of formal geological lithostratigraphic units, or large reference products such as the Tertiary Geological Mapping and the Geological 3D Model. Assignments can be linked to other assignments, probes, drillings, soil samples, interpretations, groundwater locations, filters, soil locations, soil sites, soil samples and pre-notifications. Research results are often added as attachments or hyperlinks to an assignment. The purpose for which an assignment was carried out can vary greatly. This is documented by the nature and origin fields. The nature of the assignment gives an indication of the theme in which the data is collected. The origin of the assignment gives an indication of the origin of the origin of the data within the assignment.
