For each modelled (hydrogeological) unit, a map layer is available with boreholes in which the base (or top) of that unit was identified, and which were used for modelling the base of that unit in H3Dv2.1. The shapefiles contain per unit and per bore the depth of the base of the unit in meters relative to the start of the bore, as well as the depth of the base in mTAW in the bore and according to the model. Bores that did not reach the base of the unit in question, but were used as an indication for their determination, were given the code ‘-8888’. The corresponding ‘Delta-z’ value (difference between depth interpretation according to the model and according to the bore) is then given the value ‘99999’. The Hydrogeological 3D model was drawn up in the context of the Flemish government's management agreement with VITO, under the name VLAKO, on behalf of the Flemish Environment Agency.
