Suspicious business activities: Brominated flame retardants (BDE)

"Map layer is the result of ""Study assignment brominated flame retardants in sediment"" carried out by SWECO on behalf of De Vlaamse Waterweg and OVAM. The study focuses on the West region within De Vlaamse Waterweg activities (https://www.vlaanderen.be/organisations/administrative-services-of-the-…). OVAM drew up a list of suspicious sections/business activities for brominated flame retardants. The headings/business activities were linked to the Land Register of Flanders. The visualization shows the plots where business activities take place/found that fall under a suspicious category for brominated flame retardants. On the basis of the various suspicious sections, 11 categories can be distinguished, namely: - Section 2.x.y: Waste treatment - Section 3.6.4: WWTP - Heading 4.6: Chemical industry - Surface treatments - Item 7.x.y: Chemical industry - Production of e.g. epoxy resins, halogenated KWS, plastic materials, synthetic rubbers, etc. - Item 12.x.y: Electronic equipment industry - Section 23.x.y: Production of plastics - Section 25.x.y: Tanneries and leather industries - Heading 36.x.y: Production of plastics (rubber) - Item 41.x.y: Textile industry - Heading 42.x.y: Metal surface treatment - Item 59.x.y: Activities involving organic solvents Of which headings 7, 12, 23, 36, 41, 42 and 59 have an additional research priority.
