Groundwater vulnerability map: the Mining Subsidence Areas

Vlaamse Milieumaatschappij

In view of the importance of the mine subsidence on the regional water management and the measures to be taken in terms of protection of groundwater, the general demarcation of the subsidence area as well as the maxima of the subsidence was indicated on the vulnerability map. Data on the Eisden seats are taken from Vansteelandt (1981), on Zolder and Beringen of the Natural Resources and Energy Service (1984) and on the Zwartberg seat of Loy ed. (1980). these are calculated subsidences. It can be noted that the subsidence will continue with time and probably expand.
