Provisional reference file for municipal boundaries, condition 01/01/2025 - correction 11/02/2025

The Provisional Municipal Borders Reference File contains information on the demarcations of the territory of the administrative units in the Flemish Region: Municipalities, administrative districts, provinces and the Flemish Region. Furthermore, this dataset contains meta-information about the origin of the geometry of the municipal boundaries. The preliminary municipal boundaries reference file serves as a geometric and object reference for the administrative divisions in Flanders. The best available information is used to build up the geometry of the municipal boundaries. In this version, the geometries of all administrative borders in Flanders have been taken from the dataset Administrative units - state on 1 January, state 01/01/2025 (https://www.geo.be/catalog/details/629ad470-71dc-11eb-af47-3448ed25ad7c…) as drawn up by AAPD (General Administration of Heritage Documentation, Federal Public Service Finance) on the basis of the various available sources (PVs, measurements, large-scale maps, etc.).
