Provisional municipal boundaries reference file, situation 17/08/2017 - correction

The Provisional Municipal Borders Reference File contains information on the demarcations of the territory of the administrative units in the Flemish Region: Municipalities, administrative districts, provinces and the Flemish Region. Furthermore, this dataset contains meta-information about the origin of the geometry of the municipal borders.The preliminary reference file municipal borders serves as a geometric and object reference for the administrative classifications in Flanders.For the construction of the geometry of the municipal borders, the best available information is used. In vele gevallen is de geometrie van de adp's (administratieve percelen) van het GRB (Groootschalig Referentiebestand) gebruikt, tenzij er beter vastgestelde geometrische informatie (zoals bvb lijsten van coördinaten die in het Belgisch Staatsblad zijn gepubliceerd bij vaststelling van grenzen)voorhanden is.De Gewest- en landsgrenzen van het Vlaams Gewest, opgemaakt door AAPD (Algemene Administratie van de Patrimoniumdocumentatie, Federale Overheidsdienst Financiën) op basis van de diverse beschikbare bronnen werden geïntegreerd in deze versie.De geometrie van de grens met Nederland is vastgelegd in het kader van een aantal grenscommissies. The geometry of the national border with the Netherlands is therefore officially fixed.The geometry of the border with France has not been formally validated with France, but AAPD assumes that it will not change any more.The geometry of the border with the Brussels and Walloon Region still needs to be finally validated, any changes will, however, be limited to very local adjustments.
