Zoning plan: clusters

Vlaamse Milieumaatschappij

The zoning plan indicates the measures that citizens and municipalities must take for the treatment of domestic waste water up to the house level. For this purpose, the zoning plan divides the territory of the municipality into the already controlled area, the area where collective purification will still be provided for and the area where no collective, but individual purification will be provided for. The conditions for the discharge of domestic waste water are set out in Vlarem Title II and vary according to the area in which the discharge of domestic waste water can be accommodated. This layer gives the demarcation of the clusters in the outer area, the zone outside the central area. The following types of areas are included: 1. Collectively optimised outdoor area: sewerage has recently been installed and is connected to a water purification system. 2. Collectively optimised outdoor area: sewage is planned or there is sewage present but it is not yet connected to a water treatment plant. 3. Individually optimised outdoor area: no sewerage is provided. The waste water must be individually treated or collected. Here is a further breakdown into: Individually optimised outdoor area_IBA-present; individually optimised outlying area_IBA-planned; individually optimised outer area_closed collecting system-present; individually optimised outer area_closed collecting system-planned.
