In the growing season of 2002 and 2003, a Very High Resolution IKONOS satellite imagery coverage was created for Flanders (including Brussels). The images, taken from the satellite of the same name, were obtained via European Space Imaging GmBH, which collaborated with Geographic Information Management NV. The satellite has simultaneously recorded a panchromatic and a multispectral image layer. In panchromatic mode, the spatial resolution is 1m. In multispectral mode, the spatial resolution is 4m. Two articles will be made available: individual bands (panchromatic and multispectral) and fused composites (true colours and false colours). The true and false color composites are supplied in tiles corresponding to the NGI map sheets The individual bands are cut into tiles with an opp. of 2 by 2.5 km that follow the NGI map sheet layout. One NGI card sheet contains 128 tiles.
