Renewable Energy Atlas Flanders - Additional potential heat production from specific biomass streams - technical scenario

This map layer is part of the Renewable Energy Atlas Flanders. "In this technical scenario, the theoretical, technical maximum related to the additional production potential is estimated for four types of biomass processing plants: large-scale agricultural digesters, pocket digesters, wood incinerators and FGT digesters. We start from the available local biomass streams (animal manure, FGT and green waste, roadside grass and branch and crown wood) and then look for the maximum number of installations that can occur in specific search zones. A number of criteria are taken into account, such as transport distances to be respected and mobilization factors. For more background information, see the report. The results are presented here at the level of the municipalities. A number of municipalities carry the label ‘confidential’ in order to guarantee the confidentiality of the Manure Bank data.
