Surface water bodies (polygons), condition 22/03/2016

This stock contains the demarcations of the surface water bodies (WWBs) as reported to the European Commission in implementation of the European Water Framework Directive (WFD) 2000/60/EC. The demarcated surface water bodies form an important geographical unit for taking measures and achieving the objectives. A body of surface water is a body of surface water in accordance with Article 1.1.3. §2 of the DIW a distinct surface water, such as a lake, a reservoir, a reservoir, a stream, a river, a canal, a transitional water or part of a stream, river or canal or transitional water. In this polygon stock, the surface water bodies of the transitional water, lake or coastal water category are demarcated.
