Heat demand residential, tertiar, agriculture and small industry (2012)

The 'Heat Map Flanders' was commissioned by the Flemish Energy Agency to implement the EU Directive 2012/27/EU on energy efficiency. The main products are maps with heat demand and heat supply for the current situation (2012) and a map with promising areas for heat recovery and heat networks in the future, both for the territory of Flanders. The study was carried out by VITO in collaboration with the distribution system operators Eandis and Infrax. You can consult the accompanying report here: www.energysparen.be/heat map. -- The total heat demand from residential, tertiary, agriculture and small industry (= non-IMJV industry) was mapped for Flanders. This is based on measured natural gas and electricity consumption as known by the distribution system operators per individual user for the year 2012. This concerns heat demand for space heating and sanitary hot water. For more background information, see the report. -- This section contains three map layers: Title (1) :Residential, tertiary, agriculture and small industry heat demand (2012) Map layer name (1): er_wvrg_diff_tot_1200m_2012 Description (1): The heat demand of residential, tertiary, agriculture and small industry (= non-IMJV industry) is displayed on a 1200 x 1200 m grid. Title (2) :Small industry heat demand (2012) Map layer name (2):er_wvrg_diff_ind_300m_2012 Description (2): The heat demand of the small industry (= non-IMJV industry) was mapped on a 300 x 300 m grid. For privacy reasons, the heat demand is not shown if less than 3 consumers are present within a grid cell. This failure is only displayed at a 1200 x 1200m resolution. Title (3) :Residential, tertiary and agricultural heat demand (2012) Map layer name (3):er_wvrg_diff_geb_100m_2012 Description (3): The heat demand of residential, tertiary and agriculture was mapped on a 100 x 100 m grid. For privacy reasons, the heat demand is not shown if less than 3 consumers are present within a grid cell. This failure is only displayed at a 1200 x 1200m resolution.
