This service includes the measurements (‘observations’) on the Internet Of Water sensor network. It concerns real-time data of temperature and conductivity according to the OSLO water quality profile and follows the LDES specification. The Internet of Water is a project-based collaboration between De Watergroep, Aquafin and the Flemish Environment Agency, with support from IMEC and VITO. This concerns non-validated project data. The experience and insights of the Internal of Water project will later be integrated into a more comprehensive IoT strategy, in which the data flows will probably also be adjusted. Here is a project description of the Internet of Water: A network of sensors measures real-time quality parameters for various water types at specific locations. With Internet of Water Flanders, we offer all water managers a real-time follow-up of specific indicators about their water quality. This provides new insights and more flexibility and ultimately also for a more optimal management. The permanent data flow from the sensors is an optimal power supply for algorithms and hydrological models. Managers of our water resources can respond to this in water intake, the supply and reuse of treated wastewater and rainwater, the reuse of effluent for irrigation, the pumping of water into canals, the establishment of new buffer basins, ... In concrete terms, we can tackle important water challenges that Flanders faces more quickly and in a more targeted manner in the coming years: salinisation and discharges to surface water.
