Share of secondary school students lagging behind

Claire Dujardin

Late schooling is measured in relation to the theoretical age of the year of study, and not in relation to learning: a pupil is said to be ‘on time’ when he or she is at most the legal school age of the year in which he or she is studying and is ‘late’ when he or she is older. The indicator given here relates only to delays of two years or more in regular full-time secondary education, organised or subsidised by the Wallonia-Brussels Federation and the German-speaking Community. The indicator is available according to the municipality of residence of the pupil. The data are taken from the Counting database on 15 January of the school year considered for the FWB, and from the teaching database of the German-speaking Community.
