A vehicle.km = the movement of a vehicle over the distance of one km on the entity's road network. The estimate is made in accordance with the figures published by the SPFMT ('General Circulation Census 2005' Brochure No 32 and especially its Supplement Brochure No 37). which are in addition to the five-yearly censuses published since 1949 in accordance with the rules of the United Nations Economic and Social Council for Europe in Geneva. Depending on the road network concerned, different methods are used.
