Share of area allocated to habitat

Julien Charlier

In Wallonia, sector plans legally define the uses for which the land must be reserved. The Walloon territory is thus entirely divided into areas of habitat, economic activities, public services and community facilities, agricultural areas, forest areas, etc. The activities and settlements that may be authorised in each area are specified in Articles D.II.23 to 42 of the Code of Territorial Development (CoDT). Areas in the sector plan are either intended for urbanisation, or not intended for urbanisation, or areas of concerted communal development (ZACC) which may receive any allocation intended or not intended for urbanisation (Article D.II.23 of the CoDT). The different indicators presented relate only to urbanisation areas and ACCAs.
