When drawing up a nature management plan, a nature project subsidy, or other similar instruments for the realization of the IHD (conservation objectives), specific nature targets can be set for vegetations, habitats of species or process-driven nature. However, the Conservation Decision (BVR 20/06/2014, Art. 8) states that the achievement of the European forest habitat types to be protected must not lead to a significant deterioration or deterioration of the so-called vegetations of regional importance (Vegetations of Regional Importance) as specified in the annex to the Decision. The VRBs are defined on the basis of well-defined mapping units from the Biological Valuation Map (BWK) and Natura 2000 Habitat Map. By translating this selection into a spatial file, it is clear to each author of a nature management plan to which parcels or parts of parcels Article 8 of the Conservation Decision applies. This map layer reflects the best available information in 2018 on the distribution of vegetation of regional importance. This could be a simplification of reality on the ground. At all times, the real situation on the ground applies to the policy and legal framework.Neither the authors nor the Institute for Nature and Forest Research can be held responsible for any errors and the consequences that may result.
