The numerical series of the analogue topographic maps (published on paper) of the NGI are arranged according to grids with rectangular meshes that fit together geographically. The different hierarchical levels of layouts in map sheets (1/1 or complete map sheet, 1/4 map sheet, 1/8 map sheet and 1/16 map sheet) are included in the dataset 'Map sheet cuts NGI, numerical series'. These are regular map sheet grids, oriented parallel to the Belgian Lambert 72 coordinate system, located in Flanders and Brussels. The origin is Belgian Lambert 72-coordinate (2000.00 m, 138000.00 m).- The complete or 1/1-map sheets measure 32 km in x-direction and 20 km in y-direction (640 km2) and have been used for the publication of the numerical series of the 1 : 50 000 Topographic maps of the NGI (hence the name 1 : 50 000 map sheets).- The 1/4-map sheets or quarter-map sheets measure 16 km x 10 km (160 km2). These cutouts are used for the edition of the numerical series of the 1 : 20 000 topographic maps.- The 1/8-map sheets measure 8 km x 10 km.- The 1/16-map sheets measure 8 km x 5 km (40 km2). The numerical series of the 1 : 10 000 Topographic maps use these cutouts.
